A Scarifier Drum is a component used in concrete floor preparation and surface finishing. It is typically mounted on a floor scarifying machine, which is used to remove concrete, coatings, and other materials from concrete surfaces. The drum houses several cutting or milling teeth that rotate to remove the unwanted material.Scarifier Drums are available in different sizes, designs, and configurations to match the specific needs of the job. For example, some scarifier drums may have a large number of closely spaced teeth for aggressive removal, while others may have fewer, wider-spaced teeth for lighter surface preparation. The drum's teeth may also be interchangeable, allowing for different configurations as the job progresses. The use of a scarifier drum can significantly improve the efficiency and quality of concrete floor preparation and surface finishing operations. However, it is important to carefully select the appropriate drum for the job and to follow safe operating procedures to minimize the risk of damage to the drum or the floor surface.
Once you have used your scarifier for quite some time, you are needed to replace the TCT carbide cutters or shafts contain in the scarifier cutting drum.
The four steps are:
1. Removing the cutting drum
2. Disassembling the cutting drum
3. Assembling the cutting drum
4. Installing back the cutting drum.
